Luke 6:36-38
Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Judge not: and you shall not be judged. Condemn not: and you shall not be condemned. Forgive: and you shall be forgiven. Give: and it shall be given to you: good measure and pressed down and shaken together and running over shall they give into your bosom. For with the same measure that you shall mete withal, it shall be measured to you again.
Jesus calls us to be merciful because mercy reflects the heart of God. It is easy to judge others while overlooking our own weaknesses, but Christ invites us to respond with compassion, forgiveness, and generosity. The measure we use toward others often reveals the condition of our own hearts. When we choose kindness over condemnation, we become instruments of God’s grace. Today is an opportunity to examine how we treat others and to ask for the humility to love as God loves us.
