Luke 11:1-4

And it came to pass that as he was in a certain place praying, when he ceased, one of his disciples said to him: Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. And he said to them: When you pray, say: Father, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation.

When the disciples ask Jesus how to pray, He gives them the Lord’s Prayer. This prayer reveals the heart of our relationship with God as a loving Father. It teaches trust, forgiveness, dependence, and openness to God’s will. Prayer is not simply reciting words but entering into communion with God. This Gospel invites us to approach the Father with confidence, bringing our needs and hopes before Him. Through regular prayer, our hearts are gradually transformed and aligned with God’s loving purposes.
