Saint Michael the Archangel is the great defender of God’s people, leader of the heavenly armies, and protector of the Church. Sacred Scripture presents him as the champion who defeated Satan and his fallen angels (Revelation 12:7–9) and as the guardian who stands for God’s faithful people (Daniel 12:1). Catholics invoke his powerful intercession for protection, courage, spiritual strength, and perseverance in the battle against evil. This novena may be prayed at any time, especially in preparation for the Feast of Saints Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael (September 29).

Glorious Saint Michael the Archangel,
Prince of the heavenly host, faithful servant of God, and courageous defender of His people, you stood firm in your love for the Lord and defeated the powers of darkness through His mighty power.
With confidence in your powerful intercession, I come before you today and entrust to your care my special intention:

Faithful Servant of God,

Glorious Archangel,
Today I renew my commitment to belong completely to Jesus Christ. Help me reject all sin, live according to God’s will, and remain steadfast until I reach the joy of heaven. May my life always give glory to God, and may I confidently proclaim with you: “Who is like God?”
