Saint Michael the Archangel is the great defender of God’s people, leader of the heavenly armies, and protector of the Church. Sacred Scripture presents him as the champion who defeated Satan and his fallen angels (Revelation 12:7–9) and as the guardian who stands for God’s faithful people (Daniel 12:1). Catholics invoke his powerful intercession for protection, courage, spiritual strength, and perseverance in the battle against evil. This novena may be prayed at any time, especially in preparation for the Feast of Saints Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael (September 29).
