The Novena to the Holy Spirit is traditionally prayed during the nine days between the Ascension of the Lord and Pentecost, commemorating the apostles and the Blessed Virgin Mary as they awaited the coming of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:12–14). It may also be prayed at any time of the year to seek the guidance, strength, and gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Come, Holy Spirit,
You are the Lord and Giver of Life, the Consoler, the Spirit of Truth, and the source of every grace. Fill my heart with Your divine presence and renew me in Your love.

Holy Spirit,
Guide my decisions each day. When I am uncertain, help me choose what is good, true, and pleasing to God.
